Posted by Allan Spencer at Dec 1, 2012 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
Amy Wingfield will continue her softball career next fall at Wingate University, just outside of Charlotte, NC. We are all very proud of Amy has she has worked hard at becoming a better player and has stepped up as a leader on the Chicks. She still has another Spring of softball at Lee-Davis and another Summer with the Chicks so we are still looking for more big league performances in the next few months. The whole Chicks family wishes you good luck at Wingate, make everyone proud. As always, GO CHICKS !!! image

Chicks finish fall in Myrtle Beach

Posted by Allan Spencer at Nov 11, 2012 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
The Chicks finished their 2012 fall season in Myrtle Beach again this year and played really good ball going 5-0-1. It was a nice warm weekend and our bats were pretty hot too as we scored 36 runs for the weekend and only allowed 2. I kind of wish we were playing some more as we have been playing our best ball of the season the last 2 tourneys and now we will have to wait until next summer to play again. We finished our fall season with a 21 wins 2 losses and 4 ties, not too bad. I know quite a few of you have some winter camps you will be attending and the school ball season will be here before you know it. You have to work hard at this game to be good so we need to work harder than everyone else this off-season. We will be having our Christmas party next month and winter workouts will start in January. Final fall stats are posted, as always GO CHICKS !!! image
The Chicks went 3-0 on Saturday in the College Exposure Showcase in Powhatan, VA but got canceled on Sunday by Hurricane Sandy. I wish we could have played Sunday because we played really well on Saturday and were poised to maybe run off another Championship. We had some great pitching and defense and our bats were hot as well most of the day. We only have one tournament left in Myrtle Beach in a couple weeks, we need to finish the Fall strong with 6 more wins. We have our last practice of the year at Midlothian High School 2:00 on Sunday, Nov. 4th. I can't believe the Fall is almost over, it seems like we just got started. Stats are posted, as always GO CHICKS!!! image

Chicks go 2-1-1 at Beach Showcase

Posted by Allan Spencer at Sep 29, 2012 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

The Chicks went on the road to Virginia Beach this past weekend and went 2-1-1 against some really good competition. With this past weekend results we ran our record to 11 wins 1 loss and 2 ties for the fall. We had to play in some miserable conditions on Saturday as one of our games was canceled by the rain and we played through the rain and cold in a couple of the other games. We aren't going to make excuses about the one game we gave up the lead late in or the game we tied. We had our chances to win all four games as we had leads in them all, conditions were bad for both teams and we have to be better and finish teams when we have them down. I expect improvement every week and I'm sure we will get better with more games. We are heading back to Salem again in 2 weeks for the ASA Scrappers Showcase to defend our last years 7-0 Championship run. Practice is Thursday 5:00 at Midlothian High School. Stats are posted, as always GO CHICKS !!!
