The Chicks played last weekend in Petersburg. We went 5-1 and finished 2nd again. We won our first 5 games and 2 were come from behind wins. We also had a 10 run inning to win our first game on Saturday. We lost 5-3 to the Sliders in the Championship game. We play again on Halloween weekend, let's win this one ladies. As always, GO CHICKS !!
Our Chicks played their first tournament at 16 and under and played very well finishing 2nd to the Cape Fear Storm. We got outstanding play from several players and looked like the Chicks we all love to watch. We were the best team in Raleigh but just fell a little short in the Championship. We play next in Hopewell on Oct. 9th & 10th. I'm looking forward to it already, let's go out and win this one ladies. As always, GO CHICKS !!
Our Chicks finished the 2004 Summer season in Sterling Va. in the PONY Nationals last week. We went 4-2 in the tournament, winning the first 4 games and then losing 2 straight games on Friday morning and getting eliminated. I really think the sitting around all day on Thursday and then getting rained out hurt our momentum. We were hitting the ball and scoring lots of runs all week until we got the day off because of rain and then the bats went quiet on Friday. We will be having tryouts for the 2005 season in August. I will notify the returning players when we decide where and when they will be. Thanks ladies for a fun season, looking forward to next season already. As always, GO CHICKS !!
Our Chicks played great ball this weekend going 7-1 and finishing 5th out of 36 teams. We went 6-0 in pool play beating teams from Maryland, New York, three from Pennsylvania and one from Virginia. In bracket play we had to face more Va. teams and went 1-1. We had great weather and a great time and I'm already looking forward to going back next season. We only have one tournament left and thats the PONY Nationals in Sterling Va. We need to continue to play great ball and we will do well. I can't believe the summer season is almost done. We will take August off and get ready for 16 and under in September. We are looking at playing 4 or 5 fall tournaments in 16 and under to get ready for next summer. As always GO CHICKS !!
Our Chicks went 4-1 for the weekend in Lynchburg. We won all our pool games and were seeded # 1 and had the bye for Sunday but couldn't quite pull out the tournament win. We played a great 8 inning ball game in the semi-finals and pulled out a great 3-1 come fom behind victory against a very good Extreme Force Blue team but fell short against the Rapids in the Championship. We are off next week but we do have practice on Sunday at 6:00 at Watkins. As always, GO CHICKS !!
