Dixie Chicks

Our Chicks finished 3rd in the NIT Tournament this weekend. We played well at times and not so well at times but I'm looking forward to next weekend in Lynchburg. It should be a great time and I've got a hunch we are going to play some very strong ball this up coming weekend. I'll post the start times when I get them. As always, GO CHICKS!!

Our Chicks had a great weekend by winning the Worth Showdown in dramatic last inning fashion by scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh and spoiling the day for a very good Thunderstix team. It was a great weekend and we got contributions from every player on the team. I was very happy for all the girls and and all the parents who spent their whole Memorial weekend at the field. Our team turned the corner today and I'm looking for some great things to happen in the near future. See you next weekend in Petersburg and as always, GO CHICKS !!

Our Chicks had another great weekend going 4-1 and claiming 2nd place in the Icebreaker Classic in Hopewell. We beat a couple of very good teams from Northern Va. in the Shooting Stars and the Firebirds but came up a little short in the Championship against the Rapids from Mechanicsville. We did get our berth in the PONY Nationals and thats what we went for, so it wasn't a bad weekend at all. The girls did a great job and I'm already looking forward to the next tournament on April 24th. As always, GO CHICKS !!

Our Chicks finished the fall season this past weekend winning four games and losing just one. We played played great ball in the first four games outscoring our opponents 30-2 including three shutouts. We ran into a very hot Washington Senators team in the quarter-finals and just got beat. Both teams had 9 hits but they scored a few more runs than we did. It was still a great fall season and I'm looking forward to a great 2004 season as well. I'll miss all of you in the off-season. Our Chicks had another great weekend going 5-1 and finishing 2nd in the Fall State Championship. We came a little short in the Championship game against the Rapids but other than that it was a great weekend. We missed Meghan this weekend, hopefully she will be ready to go in the Nov. tournament and we can get some revenge on the Rapids. I was proud of all the girls this weekend, take a week off and I'll see you at practice on Sunday, Oct.25th 3:30 p.m. at Watkins. As always, GO CHICKS !!
