Dixie Chicks

Our Chicks played super ball all weekend. We went 5-2 for the tournament and finished 2nd to the Vipers. We were leading the Championship until the 5th inning, then a couple of close calls didn't go our way and they went on to beat us for the Championship. I wasn't disappointed though, the team looked great and played great all weekend. I was proud of every single player on the team. Everyone contributed to our great weekend and I can't wait until we play the State Championships next weekend in Petersburg. See you there, As always, GO CHICKS !!

Our Chicks ended another successful season in Orlando going 4-2 in the USSSA "A" World Series. We went into the tournament seeded 6th out of 48 teams. We did win our bracket and we shutout the Maryland State Champs twice in the tournament. We also beat teams from Texas and Tennessee. We had 2 heart-breaking losses, one in extra innings and the other we lost 1-0. We played well and deserved better but things don't always go your way. Thanks girls for a great season and hopefully we won't have to travel so far for the Worlds next season. I'm already looking forward to next season. See you in the fall. As always, GO CHICKS !!

Our Chicks had another good weekend, just came up a little short in the Championship game against the Tornados. It was a 3 hour 12 inning marathon and a great ballgame. The girls played well and looked good at times. We just have one practice left before the Worlds next week in Orlando. We are playing good and I think we'll do just fine in Fla. Our Chicks are Queen of the Hill for the second straight year going 5-0 for the weekend and beating the Storm in the Championship 5-2. We are playing great ball at the right time. We need to keep it going in Williamsburg next weekend and then go into Florida for the Worlds on a roll. We only have 2 weeks of the season left ladies, let's make the most of it. It was a great weekend and I was proud of all the girls, great job. GO CHICKS !!

Our Chicks travelled to the Pennsylvania for the Firecracker Tournament and represented the state of Virginia well. We went 6-1 for the weekend, received hardware for being bracket champion, won 1st place in the 14 & under team skills competition, Molly Hagy won the Home Run Derby, Brittany Blankenship received first team all-tournament team honors and Kristi Collins received 2nd team all-tournament team honors. We played like a team and not a bunch of individuals and it showed on and off the field. I was proud to be a part of a great performance like that.
