Chicks rain shortened again

Posted by Allan Spencer at Jul 3, 2016 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Chicks went back on the road to Virginia Beach this past weekend for a long Thursday thru Sunday tournament. We had to battle the rain as well as our competition and showed well. We went 4-1-1 in the six games we played but lost out to rain for one game on Saturday and lost the whole day on Sunday. I was hoping to get to play some more games but sometimes the rain wins out. We ran our record to 22 wins with just 1 loss and 2 ties for the season. We now have played 4 tournaments for the year. We won the 2 tournaments that were actually completed and the other 2 were rained out on elimination Sunday. We have a week off before we head back to the beach for the PGF Summer Scorcher and we need to work hard on improving each week. It's hard to believe but we are only 3 tournaments away from finishing our Summer season. See you at practice on Sunday, July 10th at 11:00 Midlothian High School. Stats are posted, as always GO CHICKS !!! image

Chicks Win Firecracker

Posted by Allan Spencer at Jun 26, 2016 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

The Chicks took our show on the road for a long weekend in Harrisburg, PA and didn't disappoint claiming the Championship and rolling off 10 straight wins. The girls put on quite a performance in all aspects of the game. We got great pitching, lots of offense and some stellar defense. We now have ran our record for the season to 18 wins and 0 losses with 1 tie as the only blemish for the Summer. I am extremely proud of how far this team has come so quickly and they are playing like they have been together for years but its only been a few weeks. We have to get ready for the Beach rather quickly as we play Thurday at Princess Anne for another long weekend of softball. Stats are posted. See you in Virginia Beach on Thursday at 1:30. As always, GO CHICKS !!!

Chicks Three-peat

Posted by Allan Spencer at Jun 12, 2016 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Chicks were at home this weekend in the hot and humid conditions at RF&P Park to defend our back to back State Championship crown and did not disappoint. We claimed our 3rd State title in a row and I couldn't be prouder of all the young ladies. We were shorthanded on Saturday with Graduations and High School ball still going on but made no excuses and came out on top once again. We showed determination and lots of grit. It's always nice to win and we seem to know how to do it already with just a few practices under our belt. We have to keep working hard to improve every week. Enjoy your week off and then we will get ready to go to Harrisburg, PA and see if we can roll off another Championship. Great job ladies! Stats are posted, as always GO CHICKS !!! image

Chicks start Summer 3-0

Posted by Allan Spencer at Jun 5, 2016 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Chicks went on the road for our first tournament this Summer and went 3-0 on Saturday but overnight rain shortned the opening weekend for us. I was really pleased with the way we played for only 2 practices, winning all 3 games and not giving up a run in the process. I would have like to played on Sunday but sometimes the weather wins out. It's on to States this weekend so we have to be ready quickly. We still have 4 players tied up in High School Championships and I wish them all well. We should be back to a full squad soon. Practice is Thursday June 9th at Midlothian High School 6:00 for everyone that isn't still playing school ball. States are posted for the rain shortened weekend, as always, GO CHICKS !!! image

Miles verbals to UVA-Wise

Posted by Allan Spencer at Mar 3, 2016 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
Lexi Miles will be continuing her softball career in college as she has verballed to UVA-Wise. She will be joining her teammate and fellow Dixie Chicks pitcher Kailyn Spencer there. I'm very proud of Lexi as she works really hard and she is a great teammate and team leader. No one is harder on Lexi than herself and I think that drive will make her a great college player. I wish you all the best and I think you will have a great college career. You still have a couple more seasons with the Chicks and I'm looking forward to getting back on the field with you this Summer. Keep working on getting better every day and the sky is the limit for you.  image
