Dixie Chicks

The Chicks are set to start our Summer schedule June 9th in Annandale, VA. We have a busy couple of months ahead of us this Summer. Practice will start in early June which won't give us much time to get ready. We will try to get at least get a couple practices together before we get going. See you soon, as always GO CHICKS!!!

June 15-17 - State Championship - Richmond, VA

June 22-24 - Firecracker College Showcase - Mechanicsburg, PA

July 5-8 - Mid Summer College Showcase - Virginia Beach, VA

July 12-15 - Hot Times Classic - Florence, SC

July 20-22 - Legends Summer Scorcher Showcase - Chesapeake, VA

July 29-August 4 - FAST Nationals - Orlando, FL

Morgan Mccoy and Sierra Ford will be continuing their softball careers at the next level in the fall. Morgan will be playing at Va. Tech and Sierra will be playing at Chattanooga State in the Tennessee mountains. The Chicks are very proud of these two young ladies as they have both  worked very hard to get to play ball in College. Both young ladies are very spirited and I'm sure they will work diligently in school and on the field. Keep working hard this Summer for the Chicks and let's see if we can roll off another undefeated campaign. As always, GO CHICKS !!!

The Chicks finished the Fall just perfect. We faced 36 opponents this Fall and we beat them all. That is something that's not done very often, in fact the Chicks have never run the table for a full season. We came close a couple seasons ago but that is an accomplishment that is just hard to do. You would think sometimes the ball would just bounce funny every now and then but it bounced just our way 36 straight times for a perfect fall finish. I'm really proud of these young ladies as we have a very young team with 4 freshman and 3 sophmores but they were fearless as we faced lots of tough competition this fall including numerous big name gold teams with big time pitching that they hadn't seen a lot of and they never missed a beat. The upper classmen stepped up and helped lead this team and it was a season that will be hard to duplicate. I'm already missing it, I wish we had a few more to play. We will be having our Christmas party next month, I hope everyone can make it. Congratulations ladies on a great 36-0 run. Final stats are posted. As always, GO CHICKS !!!

Kelly Heinz signs at Virginia Tech and now she will officially be a Hokie starting next Fall. She has been verballed since last August. Click on this link to read her info from hokiesports.com.

Casey Price will continue her softball career at George Mason University next fall after she signs with them today. Casey will certainly help GMU right away, she was an All-Metro and All-State player as a Junior and I expect her Senior season to go just as well or better. Casey is a great player, person and teammate. I expect great things from her in the future and I know she will be an impact player in the CAA. Congratulations to Casey and her family, I'm sure she will make the Chicks proud. As always, GO CHICKS !!!
