Dixie Chicks

The Chicks played in Powhatan this weekend and impressed everyone again. The Chicks rolled off 7 more wins and captured another Championship. We had lots of great plays and lots of stars again. I am really proud of how this team has come together so quickly. Most teams take time to gel and need to learn how to finish tournaments but this team has had no problem finishing teams and winning tournaments. This Chicks team remains perfect for the Fall running our record to 30-0. I don't care who you are or what sport you play that is quite an accomplishment.

We only have 1 tournament remaining for the Fall in Myrtle Beach on Nov. 12th. I'm really looking forward to going the Beach. This trip is always a lot of fun and a great way to end the season. Practice is next Sunday, Oct. 30th at Midlothian High School 2:00. The Chicks rolled into Salem for the second time in the last month and the results were the same as the last time,  another championship and 8 straight wins. It was a long couple of days but the girls played as a team and never quit. We had all star performances from everybody at one time or another over the long weekend. It was definitely a total team effort and I couldn't be prouder of everyone's effort. That runs our record to 23-0 for the 2011 Fall season with 3 straight Championships. Let's keep it rolling into Powhatan in 2 weeks in the College Exposure Showcase. Again, great job ladies. Practice is Thursday at Ironbridge at 6:00 if weather permits. The Chicks traveled to Virginia Beach this weekend to play in the Legends Showcase Showdown and went 3-0. The only thing that beat us was the rain. We fought the weather all weekend and ended up playing indoors for the first time. It was quite a different experience playing inside but the girls played great against some really good teams. Let's keep it rolling into Salem in two weeks and try to claim another Championship. Stats are posted, as always GO CHICKS !!!

The Chicks went on the road this past weekend to Salem and rolled off 7 straight wins to claim the Play the Valley Championship. We had a lot of great performances from everybody on the team. It was a great weekend for the Chicks as we are really starting to gel. I am really excited about how this team is playing and working hard to get better every week. The Chicks started the new Fall season this past weekend and with just a few practices under our belt and lots of new faces we ran off 5 straight wins to claim the Labor Day Scramble Championship. We beat some quality teams and I was really proud of how the girls played and handled the pressure of the higher level ball. We have a lot of young players and they were not intimitated at all by the other teams older players. Everyone worked hard all weekend and it paid off with our first Championship. Let's keep working hard and I think we can become a great team. We play in Salem on Sept. 17, let's start preparing for our next tournament now with a couple good practices before we leave.
