Dixie Chicks

Rachel Baldwin committed to Lynchburg College and will join teammate Sheree Lamp and former teammate Amanda Parker next Fall. Rachel had a great Fall for the Chicks last year and we are expecting big things this Summer from her. Congratulations go out to Rachel and her family, keep working hard. As always, GO CHICKS !!!

Peyton Larus will continue her softball career next season at the University of Virginia. That is a great school and they are getting a great player to help their program. I am very proud of Peyton as she has only been playing softball for just a little over 2 years and she inks a deal with a big time ACC school. Peyton started with me at Midlothian High School and has developed in just 2 years into quite a good player with a lot of upside if she continues to improve. She has come a long way in a short time but I expect great things from her. Keep working hard, the sky is the limit for you. I wish you the best, as always GO CHICKS !!!

Sheree Lamp and Debnes Samuels sign their College deals for next Fall. Sheree will be headed to Lynchburg College to play for Dawn Simmons and Debnes will be headed to Christopher Newport to play for Keith Parr. Both schools are very good schools and very competitive in their conferences. Sheree will join her teammate from last season Amanda Parker at Lynchburg and Debnes will reunite with her teammates from the past Ashley Currin, Liz Holte and Krista Townsend at CNU. I am extremely happy both young ladies have made the decision to continue their softball careers. I wish the best for the both of you. I still have you for one more Summer before you go off to college so let's go out and finish next season strong by winning Nationals. As always, GO CHICKS !!!

The Chicks went to sunny Myrtle Beach and finished the Fall Season running off 6 wins in the Early Signing Showcase. We finished the year strong winning our last 13 games and going 34-2-2. I was proud of all the young ladies this past weekend as we had to come from behind to win 3 of the games. We had a lot of different players step up in the hitting department. I know everyone is looking forward to a little down time until High School ball starts in February but I am sure I will be bored in a few weeks. It's a long time until we get to play again in June. I hope everyone has a great off season. We will be having a Christmas party next month, I will get everyone the details soon. Thanks for a great season, final stats are posted. The Chicks won the Halloween Cup this past weekend going 6-0 for the weekend. We started the weekend a little sloppy but we improved every game and I was proud of all the girls as we had lots of different players step up and contruibute to winning the Championship. We ran our record to 28-2-2 for the Fall with just 6 showcase games left in Myrtle Beach next weekend. Everyone should have their rooms lined up for the last tournament.
