Chicks Win Queen of the Hill

Posted by Allan Spencer at Jul 5, 2010 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Chicks won the Queen of the Hill tournament this past weekend and did it in pretty impressive fashion going 9-0. It was a long hot 3 days but the girls played great and the heat never affected them. We are 17-1 in the last 2 weekends and 23-5 for the Summer and including this groups 2009 Fall season we are impressive 48-6. Let's keep improving each week and claim those National Championship rings in Florida the first week of August. We only have 3 tournaments left with this team, that's hard to believe it seems like we just started. I guess time does fly when your having fun. Enjoy your weekend off and I will see you at practice next week. Stats are posted. As always, GO CHICKS !!! imageimage

Chicks go 8-1 in Firecracker Showcase

Posted by Allan Spencer at Jun 26, 2010 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Chicks travelled to Mechanicsburg, PA this past weekend and went 8-1 and finished 3rd out of 51 teams. We went 6-0 in our two days of pool play to seed #1 overall in the tournament. We did win our first 2 games on Sunday to advance to the Gold Bracket Semi-Finals but lost our only game of the weekend 8-6 to local rival Richmond Rampage. It's hard to believe but we only have 4 tournaments left for the Summer season. We need to continue to improve each week so we are playing our best ball when we go to Florida for Nationals the first week of August. I was proud of everyone as we played hard all weekend but we still need to learn how to finish. We have practice on Thursday at Midlothian High School at 6:00 as we need to get ready for another long, hot weekend at Queen of the Hill here in Richmond. Stats are posted, as always GO CHICKS !!!

Chick finish 2nd in Rock & Fire

Posted by Allan Spencer at Jun 12, 2010 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Chicks finished 2nd in Rock & Fire losing 1-0 in the Championship game. We did get 7 hits and got thrown out at home in the 5th and the left bases loaded in the 7th. We played good but didn't get the breaks today. We will become better in the next couple weeks as we will be getting everyone back from school ball and beach week and graduations. We are practacing on Thursday, June 17th at Midlothian High School at 5:30 and again on Tuesday, June 22nd to get ready for our Pennsylvania trip in 2 weeks. We leave on Thursday, June 24th and play 3 games on Friday, 3 on Saturday and hopefully 4 on Sunday. That's half a high school season in one weekend. I expect us to get better the more we play and to be peaking when we go to Florida for Nationals in August. As always, GO CHICKS !!!

Chicks start season 4-1

Posted by Allan Spencer at Jun 6, 2010 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Chicks played their first tournament of the sumer season this past weekend and went 4-1 in the weather shortened BRYC Classic. We were shorthanded because of High School State playoffs and played pretty well for only having one practice together. We were in the semi-finals when the tournament was finally canceled after numerous lightning delays. We made no excuses and I was proud of everyone as we only had 9 available players for the whole weekend. We play this weekend in Richmond. I will send out schedule as soon as it is posted. We have practice on Thursday at Midlothian High School at 5:30. Stats are posted, as always GO CHICKS !!! image
