Dixie Chicks

Our Chicks headed back to Dorey Park again to play USA Fall States and went 2-2 for the weekend. We continue to play well at times then have that 1 inning we can’t make a play. I am determined we can get better and those innings will stop. Our hitting is solid, we have a bunch of players with great batting averages and on base percentages. If we can cut the mistakes out good things will happen. Virginia Beach is next for us, let’s step it up. As always, GO CHICKS !!!

The Chicks played well this past weekend winning 4 games and dropping just 1 game that we led to the last inning before letting that one get away. We had a lot of girls hit the ball well and we played solid defense most of the weekend. We only gave up 4 runs in the 5 games and that will win a lot of games for you. We have practice next Sunday at LC Bird. Stats are posted, as always GO CHICKS !!!

The Chicks went on the road for the first time this Fall and went 3-2 for the weekend. We hit the ball pretty well but made too many defensive mistakes. You can’t go far in tournaments making as many mistakes as we made. Hopefully, we learned from some of them and we get better quickly. No time to dwell on that as we play again this weekend at Dorey Park. Stats are posted, GO CHICKS !!!

The Chicks opened another season last Sunday with a couple hard fought scrimmage wins at Dorey Park. We did some things well but we have a lot of room for improvement. We get the real season started this Saturday at Botetourt Complex in Troutville, Va. We have some tough pool games to get started with. I know I’m ready to get started and I sure hope the girls are too. See you Saturday at 10:30 at the field. As always, GO CHICKS !!!

The Chicks went back on the road to a hot and humid Va. Beach again last week and didn’t play our best ball. We got eliminated Saturday evening. We had our fate in our own hands to get to Sunday by just winning our last game Saturday and couldn’t finish. We fell behind 5-0 and fought back to 5-3 with bases loaded in the last inning and could not convert. We are down to our last tournament of the Summer next week, Nationals in Myrtle Beach. Hannah won’t be going with us and we will miss her a bunch. Thanks for 3 great years and I wish you all the best. You are a great kid with a great family. Let’ finish this Summer strong and make some noise in Myrtle Beach. See you next Wednesday at Grand Park. As always, GO CHICKS !!!
