Dixie Chicks

We have another tournament canceled by weather this weekend in Powhatan. All thats left now is Myrtle Beach in a couple weeks. Let's hope for some sunshine. It's been a tough fall with all the wet weather. I will get schedule to everyone as soon as I hear something. Let's try and finish the fall with a strong showing. The Chicks got back on track with some better ball this past weekend and finished 3rd with an ITB loss in the semi-finals of the ASA Scrappers Showcase in Roanoke. Our bats were much better as was our pitching. We still need to work on getting better but we had a lot of positive moments this past weekend. We have practice on Sunday at LC Bird if the weather permits as we need to prepare for a busy couple weeks at Virginia Beach and Powhatan. Stats are posted, as always GO CHICKS !!!

The newest version of the Chicks got started on Sunday with a 3 game friendly at LC Bird and went 2-1 in the process. We had some good moments and had some others that I would rather forget. We have to get work on getting better everytime we go on the field, learn from our mistakes and have some fun playing this game that we all love. We have practice next Sunday at Midlothian 11:00 and play our first tournament in Salem in 2 weeks. Stats for Sunday are posted, as always GO CHICKS !!!

This years Chicks went on the road for the last time this Summer season to Nationals in Myrtle Beach. We had some really good moments and some not so good moments and finished our season going 4-3 for the week and 22-10-1 for the year. 2 of the games we dropped at the beach were to the final 2 teams that played for the Championship. We missed a lot of ball this year with the weather and never seemed to find any momentum. We will go back to work in a couple weeks and try to improve for Fall.  I will miss my seniors that are off to college. They have all been with me for multiple years and were big contributors to our success. They are all great kids and awesome ballplayers. Your parents did a good job raising you and teaching you good values. That's a lost art these days. I'm sure you all will make the Chicks proud in School and on the ballfield. The Chicks went back to the beach for another 4 day tourney this past weekend and fared better going 5-2-1 and finished 5th out of 48 teams. We beat some good teams but it could have been better. It's hard to believe that another season is almost over. All we have left is Triple Crown Nationals at Myrtle Beach starting next week. I look forward to Nationals every year but it's always tough when its over as all the seniors are off to college and it's the last time they play with us. Stats are posted, as always GO CHICKS!!!
