Dixie Chicks

It wasn't a typical weekend for the Chicks. We had a poor 3-4 showing and Finished 13th in the Atlantic Coast Elite Showcase. The only thing I can say good about the wekkend is we never quit, we battled to the end every game. We didn't do very many things good and every time we made a mistake the opponents cashed in. I'm putting that behind us and moving forward to the PGF Summer Scorcher this Thursday back at Princess Anne Complex again. I'm confident we won't have that kind of showing. We have had a time with the rain this season. Already rained out in Annandale earlier in the month we ran into problems again in Hagerstown. We managed to get 1 game and a piece of a game in on Friday before the monsoon rains came. Saturday was a complete washout and finally on Sunday we got in 3 games. We did manage to go a respectable 4-1 but still have to get better quickly. Our July schedule is tough and we need to get ready fast. Only 3 tournaments left and it seems like we just got started. Summer season goes by way to quickly.  Stats are posted, as always GO CHICKS !!!

The Chicks finally got the season started after last weeks wash out with 6 wins and a fifth straight State Championship. We played well at times but still have a lot of work to do get to where we need to be. I was very proud of my Chicks as we had some tense moments in a couple games and worked our way out of it every time. We had lots of good moments at the plate and our pitching was near flawless. I'm expecting big things from this team this year but we have to keep working to get better every time out. Practice is Wednesday at 6:00 Midlothian High School. We have had an extremely wet month in Virginia and rain got us last weekend in Annandale. I was hoping to get some games under our belt before this weekends State tournament. We will have to start our season playing for our 5th staight State Championship with no games under our belt but I'm sure everyone is in the same situation as we are. We will have to make the best with the hand we are dealt. See you at practice on Wednesday 6:00 at Midlothian High School. As always, GO CHICKS !!!
